This part of the standard establishes a system of designation for polyoxymethylene (POM) thermoplastic materials, which may be used as the basis for specifications. Polyoxymethylene materials are thermoplastic materials composed principally of long-chain synthetic homopolymers and copolymers of formaldehyde.
