1 3 Internal-combustion engine-powered industrial／commercial floor cleaning machines are intended to
be operated，maintained，and used in accordance with the truck type designations in the Standard for
Powered Industrial Trucks Including Type Designations，Areas of Use，Conversions，Maintenance，and
Operations，NFPA 505
1 4 Internal—combustion engine—powered industrial／commercial floor cleaning machines covered by these
requirements are identified as follows：
Types G，D，LP，and G／LP—Cleaning machines fueled with gasoline(G)，diesel fuel(D)，
liquefied petroleum gas(LP)，or either gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas(G／LP)，and the fue
electrical and exhaust systems have the minimum safeguards against the inherent risk of fire
Types GS，DS，LPS，and GS／LPS—Cleaning machines fueled with gasoline(GS)，diesel fuel
(DS)，or liquefied petroleum gas(LPS)，or either gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas(GS／LPS)
and have safeguards in addition to those required for Types G，D，LP，and GfLP
