1.1 These requirements cover software programs intended to calculate the water delivery time for dry
sprinkler systems. The use of the term "water" herein does not preclude the application of these
requirements to water based liquids where so investigated and referenced in the manufacturer's user's
manual. The requirements contained herein are not to be used to investigate the accuracy of software
programs intended for hydraulically calculating sprinkler systems.
1.2 Requirements for use of these programs are included in the National Fire Protection Association
Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13.
