Voluntary Specification for Sash Balances

1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for materials, testing and performance for sash balances used in hung-type windows conforming to AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S. 2/A440, "Standard/Specification for Windows, Doors, and Unit Skylights." 1.2 Sash balances designed for use in, or combined with, jambliner systems exclusively are not required to meet the classification requirements of other sash balance designs.
