Exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy has been identified as an environmental factor
to be considered before a radio transmitter will be certified by various regulatory
agencies. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) OET Bulletin 65 (Evaluating
Compliance with FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radiofrequency
Electromagnetic Fields, edition 97-01, August 1997) outlines various Electromagnetic
Energy (EME) evaluation methods as they apply to mobile, portable and base station
Land Mobile Radio Products and provides assistance in determining whether a
proposed or existing transmitting facility, operation or device complies with established
FCC RF Exposure requirements.
