1.1 These requirements cover early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinklers having nominal discharge coefficients up to 14.0 gpm/psi1/2 intended for installation as part of sprinkler systems for fire-protection service. Requirements for installation and use of ESFR sprinklers are included in the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13, as well as other NFPA standards. This new edition of ANSI/UL 1767 is being issued as a periodic re-issuance to ensure that UL's Standards remain up to date with regard to format and editorial issues such as numbering, pagination, and cross-referencing. This new edition also includes a revision to the Scope and a Clarification of Requirements to Provide Consistency with Existing Testing Practices.
