This section of the Cleanroom Technology Assessment contains articles that deal with attitude,
cleaning, and maintenance. It is often said that when installing a cleanroom or upgrading an area
to near cleanroom status, there must be a defining moment. A time when, from this moment on,
the area will be looked upon with a more critical eye and new rules of behavior, because a
cleanroom is as much an attitude as it is a technically measurable atmosphere. Personal
experience has shown a significant reduction in imaging defects simply by adding double doors,
caps, and smocks to an area and restricting traffic.
