This standard specifies limit gauges used for dimensional inspection(1) of external threads of tolerance Classes 3A, 2A, and 1A and of internal threads of 3B, 2B, and 1B specified in KS B 0216(Limits of sizes and tolerance for unified fine screw threads) (hereinafter referred to as the limit gauges for screw threads), and gauges for checking these limit gauges(hereinafter referred to as the checking gauges).
Note (1) Where inspection of flank, crest, roots, circularity of pitch diameter, and surface roughness of thread profiles and others are needed, instruments other than limit gauges shall be used.
