This Korean Industrial Standard specifies the etching primer (hereinafter referred to as "primer").
Remarks 1. The primer is the priming coat for the metal surface used for the purpose of increasing the adhesive property and corrosion preventing property of the coating system for the metal substrate at the time of metal coating and is applied on the metallic substrate immediately after cleansing the substrate and after that, the rust inhibiting coating, top coat, etc. are overlaid to form the coating system.
2. The primer is the liquefied coating which includes phosphoric acid, or phosphoric acid and chromate pigment for reacting with the substrate metal and is mixed with alcohol solution such as vinyl resin as a main vehicle, and further this primer constitute to two separate solutions of main mix them together immediately before its use.
