This Korean Industrial Standard specifies the general requirements common to various rotating electrical machines, (hereinafter referred to as the "rotating machines"). A rotating machine is an electrical machine which has a rotating member and depending on electromagnetic induction, generates, converts or transforms (1) electrical energy (including reactive power), or converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.
Note (1) The converts of electrical energy includes the conversion between a.c. and d.c, that of frequency or number of phases, etc. The transforms is that of voltage alone, not accompanying the conversions as above.
Remark In this standard the units and numerical values given in { } are in accordance with the International System of Units (SI), and appended for reference only.
