This standard specifies about general method to measure the melting point and the fusion range from room temperature to 300°C.
Remark 1. Melting point is applied to materials with definite temperature.
2. Fusion range is applied to materials that do not have the melting point definitely such as mixture of oil, wax, vaseline, etc. and such as glass and amorphous materials.
3. When different measurement method from this standard is specified in individuation product or product groups, the method should be the specified method in that standard.
4. Among chemical products, there are some that can't secure safety of test when use this standard because of strong volatility, explosiveness, radioactivity etc.
Method specified in this standard is general method, and is applied to what can confirm the safety enough previously.
5. Related standard of this standard is as following.
