This is a performance Standard covering manually operated wheelchairs, both self-propelled and attendant-propelled, but not powered.

Wheelchair design is not a part of this Standard, nor are materials.

This Standard provides a series of tests of the ability of a wheelchair to withstand a variety of impacts and stresses which have been chosen to approximate those generally encountered in actual use.
