1.1 This New Zealand Standard is intended to prescribe the physical properties of intra-uterine contraceptive devices, any tails or threads and associated insertion instruments, and conditions pertaining to the sterilizing, packaging, labelling and storage of such devices.
The most important performance criteria have to be assessed by clinical experience and are outside the scope of this standard.
