The Code applies to stockcrates fitted to vehicles with a GVM of 6000 kgs or greater, used for the cartage of livestock, and specifies the minimum requirements for the design, performance, and construction of stockcrates and retention devices.
NOTE - Stockcrates of monocoque construction shall meet the requirements established under this Code.
1.2
Compliance with the requirements of this Code should ensure that stock arrives at its destination in acceptable physical condition.
1.3
This Code and recommended practice shall apply to any component related to the attachment of stockcrates to the load platform, chassis, or substructure of trucks and trailers.
