This standard deals with the conditions and the chemical methods of attaining them, for water for land boilers operating upto 18 kg/cm2 in order to overcome the trouble on the water side of the
boilers.
This standard also applies generally to boilers operating under medium pressure i. e. betwean 18 and 42 kg/cm2.
Land boilers operating at pressure higher than 42 kg/cm2, marine boilers and locomotive boilers are not covered in this standard.
