1.2 The specification is intended primarily to establish a satisfactory standard of safety When the appliance is used under normal conditions, and it is based on an ambient temperature not normally
exceeding 40℃.
1.3 This specification applies to all electrical heating and cooking appliances except as otherwise stated in the individual specification for particular types of appliance for which additional or modified requirements may be specified.
1.4 An appliance of a particular type can only be considered as conforming fully to this specifi-cation if there is an individual specification giving special requirements for this type and when the full requirements of this specification and the individual specification are met.
1.5 This specification also covers heating and cooking appliances which incorporate a motor, but such appliances shall also comply with the requirements of Part B, "Motor-operated Appliances", where these are applicable.
