This part of SS 11 specifies two methods (titrimetric and potentiometric) for the determination of free fatty acids in animal and vegetable fats and oils. The acids are expressed preferably as the acid value or alternatively as acidity calculated conventionally.
The method is applicable to animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is not applicable to waxes.
