This Section specifies the requirements for the bar code symbology known as Code 128. It specifies Code 128 symbology characteristics, data character encodation, dimensions, tolerances, decoding algorithms and user-defined application parameters. It also describes EAN 128 as a subset of Code 128 assigned to the International Article Numbering Association (EAN). EAN 128 is a supplementary code of EAN 13 and should be used in conjunction with EAN 13.
