1.1 This standard specifies sizes, construction, requirements, packing, test and criteria for conformity of aluminium conductors, steel-reinforced, for power transmission purposes.
1.2 The conductor of each size consists of hard-drawn aluminium wires of equal size and common properties, twisted over zinc-coated steel wire.
1.3 The diameters of the aluminium wire range from 1.80 mm to 4 mm, and of the zinc-coated steel wire from 1.44 mm to 3.60 mm.
