1.1 This standard specifies types, symbols and forms, sizes, masses and tolerances, chemical composition, requirements, mark and label, sampling and criteria for conformity, and testing for hot-rolled steel bars for cold-finished steel bars.
1.2 This standard covers only hot-rolled steel bars for cold-finished steel bars manufactured directly, by the hot-roll process, from billet, bloom, slab or ingot which has not been pre-processed and which is obtained by the open hearth, the basic oxygen or the electric arc furnace process only.
