1.1 This standard establishes minimum requirements for the performance features of Residential Translucent Sloped Glazing System products built from aluminum, vinyl (PVC), wood and/or alternate materials.
1.1.1 This standard shall be known as "Voluntary
Specifications for Residential Translucent Sloped Glazing Systems" and shall be hereinafter referred to as "the standard."
1.1.2 Application of References:
All references to chapter or section numbers of this
standard shall be interpreted to refer to such chapter or section unless specifically provided for elsewhere in the standard.
1.1.3 Residential Translucent Sloped Glazing System
The term "Residential Translucent Sloped Glazing
System" as used in this standard refers to fenestration products or glazing systems.
1.1.4 The primary units of measure in this document are metric. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for reference only.
1.2 APPLICABILITY
1.2.1 General
This standard shall apply to those matters affecting
fenestration products deemed to comply with the standard defined herein. The construction of such glazing systems shall comply with these standards by section as specified.
1.2.2 Matters Not Provided For
Any requirements essential to the safety of Residential Translucent Glazing Systems that are not specifically addressed in this standard adopted in the jurisdiction shall be determined by the code official. The local building authority shall determine the provisions for permitting approvals, professional services,occupancy,violations
and appeals as well other requirements not expressly
included herein. Procedures for these activities shall be set by local code adoption or at the discretion of the local official.
