This standard applies to auto coordinated control and protective switching devices,designated ACPS in the test,the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits of rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V dc.
ACPS are intended to provide both protective and control functions for distribution circuits and for appliances.The ACPS can possibly ensure other additional functions such as isolation.
This standard does not apply to devices for specific application such as:
- Starters associated with their short circuit protective device as a composite unit or as a combination within a specific enclosure;
- Reduced voltage starter (star delta,auto transformer...);
- Rheostatic rotor starters;
- Equipment designed not only for starting,but also for adjustment of speed.
