The specifications of this standard apply to the designation of standardized and non-standardized tool holders with rectangular shank and of cartridges intended for the mounting of indexable inserts made of hardmetal, ceramics or other cutting materials to be used for turning operations. The standard does not apply to tool holders and cartridges with dimensions of deviating from the values specified in DIN 4984-1 to DIN 4984-14 and in DIN 4985-1 to DIN 4985-12 respectively.#,,#
