This specification covers the materials, basic design, and construction of soft-top suitcases.

b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in Appendix B.
c) Guidance on the verification of the quality of soft-top suitcases produced to this specification is given in Appendix C.
d) If the provisions of this specification are incorporated into any law in terms of Section 33 of the Standards Act, 1982 (Act 30 of 1982), the incorporation relates only to the relevant provisions for the commodity or its manufacture as stated in the specification but not to sampling procedures and other concepts and directives not material to the implementation of the incorporating law.
