This part of SANS 1411 specifies requirements for elastomer components in insulated electric cables and flexible cords. NOTE As this part of SANS 1411 specifies only the elastomer component(s) in a finished cable or cord, the quality evaluation of such component(s) will form part of the quality evaluation of any consignment or lot of cable or cord. Any sampling plan and criteria for compliance laid down in an annex to a standard that covers the cable or cord shall, therefore, apply to the inspections and tests carried out in terms of this part of SANS 1411.
