This specification covers requirements for the material, dimensions, construction and performance of 12 types of pliers and 3 types of nippers.
NOTE
a) The standards referred to in the specification are listed in Appendix A.
b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and a requirement that must be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser are listed in Appendix B.
c) All figures are merely illustrative and are not intended to preclude pliers and nippers that, while complying with the relevant requirements of the specification, differ in appearance from those illustrated.
d) Elastics-coated handles on tools are only for gripping comfort and are not intended to give any degree of protection against electric shock. All normal safeguards should therefore always be observed when such tools are used to do work on electrical apparatus.
