This specification covers insulated bushings for use on transformers in which the hollow insulators of the bushings provide the major insulation to voltage stresses. The bushings are designed for use with one or both ends immersed in an insulating medium (such as oil) or in air at the prevailing atmospheric pressure.
NOTE
a) The standards referred to in the specification are listed in appendix A.
b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser are listed in appendix B.
c) Except under the certification mark scheme, provision of the sample material required for the test given in 7.2 shall, when appropriate, be a matter for agreement between the supplier and the purchaser.
d) Information regarding the verification of the quality of standard transformer bushings produced to this specification and a sampling plan that could be used to assess compliance with the specification of a lot of standard transformer bushing are given in appendix C.
