This specification covers plain, unthreaded and threaded polypropylene homopolymer (type PP-H), copolymer (type PP-B) and random copolymer (type PP-R) pressure pipes and integral and threaded fittings fitted by the manufacturer, intended for above and below ground applications for the conveyance of fluids under pressure.
2 Five classes of pipe are covered. Forty-three nominal sizes of pipe, ranging from 8-1 000 mm (see tables 3(a), 3(b) and 3(c)), are specified.
NOTES
a) The standards referred to in this specification are listed in appendix A.
b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and a requirement that must be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier are given in appendix B.
c) Notes to users of the pipe (that include a pressure derating table for pipes to be used at temperatures of 20 °C and above 20 °C, and a list of fluids considered to be non-conveyable in polypropylene pipes) are given in appendix C.
d) Guidance on the verification of the quality of polypropylene pressure pipes produced to this standard is given in appendix D.
