This standard specifies the requirements for fire-retard ant and non-combustible emulsion degreasers that contain detergents and organic solvents. The degreasers are intended for the cleaning of painted and unpainted surfaces of components, machinery and engines, that are soiled with oil, grease and similar contaminants, and on which water can be used during the cleaning process.
The degreasers are not intended for use on electrical equipment, delicate machine parts, rolling element bearings, and winding steel cables, or on aircraft and aircraft components.
