The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly, considering that Resolution ITU-R 56 provides that the term "IMT" is the root name that encompasses both IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced collectively; that, with the changing radiocommunication environment, a world process for technological harmonization needs to be advanced further to ensure inter alia, global interconnection and interoperability.
