This International Standard specifies the datatype of participant identifiers in learning, education and training. Security and protection of personal data associated with the use of a participant identifier is not addressed in this standard. The naming policy, registration, and authentication of participant identifiers are outside the scope of this International Standard. NOTE There is a risk of improper access and misuse of personal and private data facilitated by the use of a participant identifier. It is the responsibility of the implementer to ensure proper use of a participant identifier.
