This Standard applies to alternating current contactors only; -having a rated voltage not exceeding 500 volts and a .rated current not exceeding 600 amperes, and which are intended for either separate installation or inside an electrical apparatus.
The contactors mentioned in,this Standard may include an overload protection.
This Standard does not apply to contactors for installation in trains, vehicles or aircraft.
This Standard does not include safety requirements in respect of hydraulic or pneumatic operating devices included in the contactors.
