This Recommendation: gives a general description of the machine and operations needed in performing the installation of optical cables as defined in ITU-T Rec. L.10 inside ducts or conduits by means of floating technique; provides considerations on infrastructure, floating equipment and setting needed in using such a technique; gives advice on the preliminary steps that should be performed; gives advice on procedures and precautions to be considered during the cable installation.
