The requirements described in this Recommendation should ensure that an international data transmission system is fully tested in terms of performance and interworking of multiplexing equipment1 prior to introduction into service. The bringing-into-service tests described in this Recommendation should ideally include periods of normal industrial activity to be representative of typical network conditions.
