As telecommunication applications have grown in functionality, size and complexity, so has the importance of their quality. In order to meet requirements for quality, suppliers of telecommunication products and services need to develop,adopt, and follow a well defined quality system.The quality system should define the organizational structure,responsibilities, procedures, processes, and resources that are needed and used for implementing these requirements.International standards on quality systems for general products/services are provided by IS0 9001. Guidelines for applying IS0 9001 to the development, supply, and maintenance of software are provided in IS0 9000-3, Part 3.
