Deals with the safety of electric fans for household and similar purposes. Examples are ceiling, table and pedestal fans. This standard replaces EN 60342-1: 1981 and its amendment 1 (1982) and EN 60342-3: 1982.This standard however, in general, does not take into account the use of appliances by- persons (including children) whose *physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or *lack of experience and knowledgeprevent them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;- children playing with the appliance.
