This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the wire ropes with profile wires generally used for machines, elevators, constructions, ships, fishery, forestry, ropeways and others (hereafter referred to as "ropes").
However, this Standard does not apply to wire ropes, wire ropes for aircraft control, wire ropes for mechanical control and wire ropes for structure.
