This standard specifies requirements for calculating the carbon footprint of seafood. The standard sets out product category rules (CFP-PCR), which further specify the requirements in existing ISO standards for life-cycle assessment (LCA) and products' carbon footprints.
The standard covers the calculation and communication of seafood products' carbon footprints from fishing and/or cultivation of feed ingredients to consumption of seafood products. The standard applies to the carbon footprints of products from both fishing and aquaculture.
In this standard, seafood means products defined in the Central Product Classification Scheme; see Annex C.
