This standard describes nitrogen gas springs for the special needs of automotive industry. The nitrogen gas springs described are optimised with respect to spring force and mounting dimensions. The nitrogen gas springs with enhanced force and low height have the advantage compared to the springs described in VDI 3003 that they provide higher spring force in smaller space in stamping dies.
