(a) General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees's hands are exposed to haz-ards such as those from skin absorp-tion of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punc-tures; chemical burns; thermal burns; harmful temperature extremes.
