Scope

This standard specifies the physical characteristics, visually readable data, recording techniques and test methods of machine-readable cards used in the healthcare field. This standard applies to machine-readable cards used in the healthcare field. Security issues follow the respective requirements of the health card system and are outside the scope of this standard.
