This standard specifies the design requirements, performance requirements, test methods, maintenance and marking of protective clothing, gloves, boots and helmets used by ship firefighters when fighting fires on ships. The equipment specified in this standard is suitable for fighting small and medium-sized fires before the fixed fire extinguishing system is activated, and is not suitable for wearing by firefighters when they enter the fire scene.
