Scope

This part of GB/T20888 specifies the design, structure and safety of pole-type side-mounted power pruning saws (hereinafter referred to as side-mounted pruning saws) that use the internal combustion engine as the power source to transmit power to the cutting attachment through the drive shaft. Requirements and test methods. Cutting accessories in this section refer to saw chains and saw blades with an outer diameter not greater than 205 mm for reciprocating or rotating motion. This section proposes ways to eliminate or reduce various hazards caused by the use of side-mounted pruning saws powered by internal combustion engines, and specifies the information requirements for safe operation provided by the manufacturer. This section covers all important hazards associated with side-mounted pruning saws during normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse, but does not involve electric shock hazards caused by overhead cables that have been warned in the operating manual. Note: See Appendix A for a list of serious hazards. This section applies to side-mounted pruning saws produced after its implementation.
