This Part of GB/T 39714 specifies the requirements and nomenclature for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) semi-finished products. This section applies to polytetrafluoroethylene containing up to 1% comonomer for the manufacture of semi-finished products. The polytetrafluoroethylene used to make semi-finished products can be new materials, reprocessed or recycled resins. The maximum amount of pigment or colorant added is 1.5% by mass, which is also applicable to the processing conditions of unfilled PTFE products in different forms. This section divides semi-finished products into four grades based on differences in tensile strength and tensile strain at break. Semi-finished products can be classified as processing type (P type), dimensionally stable type (S type), and can also be designated as electrical type (E type) or other types for different applications. Note: For other standard specifications on PTFE semi-finished products mentioned in this section, see Appendix A for reference.
