- This standard specifies the index requirements for edible salt, food additives, nutritional fortifiers, hygienic requirements and inspection methods during production and processing. This standard is applicable to processed edible salt with sodium chloride as the main component obtained from seawater, underground rock (mine) salt deposits, and natural brine (salt) water, and is not applicable to low-sodium salt.
