Scope
This standard specifies the index requirements for edible salt, food additives, nutritional fortifiers, hygienic requirements and inspection methods during production and processing. This standard is applicable to processed edible salt with sodium chloride as the main component obtained from seawater, underground rock (mine) salt deposits, and natural brine (salt) water, and is not applicable to low-sodium salt.

GB 2721-2003(XG1-2004) history

GB 2721-2003(XG1-2004) has been changed from GB 2721-2003 Hygienic standard for food grade salt.

GB 2721-2003(XG1-2004) was changed to GB 2721-2015 National Food Safety Standard Edible Salt.
