- This standard specifies the on-site treatment of microbial samples in wastewater treatment systems, the isolation and preservation of microbial strains, the extraction of metagenomic DNA from microbial samples, and the preservation of microbial samples. This standard applies to the on-site treatment, extraction and preservation of microbial samples in wastewater treatment systems using biological treatment processes (activated sludge process and biofilm process).
