Scope

This standard specifies the functional safety requirements and tests for traction battery management systems for electric vehicles (hereinafter referred to as "battery management systems"). This standard is applicable to lithium-ion power battery management systems for electric passenger vehicles and management systems for other types of traction batteries. And power storage battery management systems of other types of vehicles can be implemented as a reference.
