Scope: This document applies to the seat portion of the wheelchair that provides postural support. This document specifies: a) The overall geometric coordinate system, which can measure and record the occupant's sitting posture information on the wheelchair; b) The terms and definitions used to describe the occupant's sitting posture and body measurement; c) Used to describe Terms and definitions for the size, location and orientation of the seating support surface which combine to form the human body support system. This document does not make specific provisions on the measurement method of the occupant's sitting posture, nor does it make any definition of dynamic physiological movements (such as body flexion and extension). This document also applies to seat support system devices other than wheelchairs.
