This standard applies to flat-plate solar collectors with liquid working medium, and in principle also applies to flat-plate solar collectors and vacuum tube collectors with gas working medium. It is not suitable for flat-plate solar collectors whose working fluid is a two-phase mixture. This standard applies to flat-plate solar collectors with only a single inlet and a single outlet. For flat-plate solar collectors with more than one inlet or outlet, if the average physical properties of the working fluid flowing into and out of the flat-plate solar collectors can be obtained, the test can also be carried out according to this standard. This standard does not apply to heat storage solar collectors, unless the heat storage process can be separated from the entire heat collection process. The method described in this standard is suitable for testing under outdoor solar irradiation. It is also suitable for tests under simulated solar irradiation indoors.
