Scope

This part of GB/T 38874 specifies the general rules for the design and development of software and hardware of safety-related parts of control systems (SRP/CS). This section applies to agricultural and forestry tractors, agricultural self-propelled machinery, agricultural trailer and semi-trailer machinery, agricultural traction machinery, and also applies to municipal machinery (for example: road sweeper). This section does not apply to: --- agricultural aircraft and agricultural aircraft; --- lawn and garden equipment. This section specifies the characteristics and categories required for SRP/CS to perform safety-related functions. This section does not specify the performance level for specific occasions. Note 1 to entry: Machinery-specific category C standards may specify an Agricultural Performance Level (AgPL) for machinery safety-related functions within their scope. Otherwise, the specification of AgPL is the responsibility of the manufacturer. This standard applies to safety components of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic systems (E/E/PES) related to electromechanical systems. This section covers possible hazards caused by faulty behavior of E/E/PES safety-related systems (including the interaction between these systems). This section does not involve hazards related to electric shock, fire, smoke, high temperature, radiation, toxicity, flammability, chemical reactivity, corrosion, energy release, etc., unless directly caused by E/E/PES safety system failure. This section also covers the failure behavior of E/E/PES safety-related systems under non-E/E/PES hazards, involving protective measures, safeguards or safety-related functions. This section contains examples in the following ranges: --- SRP/CS limits the current in the electric hybrid system to prevent insulation failure/shock hazard; --- SRP/CS electromagnetic interference; --- SRP/CS fire protection design. This section does not contain examples in the following ranges: --- Insulation failure caused by friction causing electric shock hazard; --- Electromagnetic radiation affecting nearby machine control systems; --- Corrosion caused by cable overheating. This section does not apply to non-electrical/electronic/programmable electronic systems (E/E/PES) (for example: hydraulic, mechanical or pneumatic). Note 2: See ISO 12100 General principles for design of machinery safety. This section does not apply to safety-related components of control systems manufactured before the implementation date.
